- Weddings
My flamenco guitar video
In this video above I play Colombiana.
This is a happy South American piece.
It is of course just one example of flamenco music.
My music clips show many other styles.
Here are a few examples of events where I have either performed as a soloist or provided a show together with flamenco dancers.
Flamenco Guitar for Berkshire Guitar Society
Solo Guitar Concert
Flamenco and Classical guitarists have a mutual respect and indeed enjoyment of each other’s music.
I was therefore so pleased when the Berkshire Classical Guitar Society invited me to give a Flamenco Guitar Recital at South Hill Park Arts Centre in Bracknell.
Here is the superb write up that was published in a guitar magazine.
“Should a classical guitar society broaden its scope and get involved in flamenco?
Yes, without hesitation.
We had the largest audience I can recall with members heavily outnumbered by non-members.
The audience enjoyed the evening and even our treasurer is happy.
Tomás played beautifully and with an obvious commitment to flamenco.
Try to catch him when he next tours the U.K.”
I shall always be grateful for this opportunity to play flamenco to a truly appreciative audience.
Flamenco Dance and Guitar for Joystick Club White Waltham
The Joystick Club is for aviation enthusiasts and they invited me to provide an evening show of flamenco together with a flamenco dancer and castanet player.
You can read the feedback I received from them on my Flamenco Dancer page.
Spanish Guitar Music Leaving for Spain Party
This was an engagement for a family that was moving permanently to Spain.
They held the party at the Valpy Street Bistro in Reading.
As they were moving to Spain, they already knew something about Spanish music.
Naturally enough not all of the guests were familiar with Spanish music in general or flamenco in particular.
I was prepared for that.
Although I cannot play Spanish pop songs or movie themes, I do play a number of Spanish pieces they people may be familiar with.
They all seemed to enjoy my playing very much and I wished them the very best with their move to Spain.
Other shows in Berkshire have been for the Berkshire Federation of Women’s Institutes, Swallowfield and many private parties for Spanish people and indeed for people from many other countries.
Here are just a few examples:
Maidenhead: Spanish family with purpose built stage in the garden.
Caversham: British people with much love for Spain and Spanish music.
Crazies Hill: Norwegian party with many guests from Norway but who just happened to love Spanish guitar.
Newbury: French couple. Again, a French party but the people liked flamenco.
Reading: Japanese party. Big flamenco fans.
Wokingham: Indian hosts and guests who wanted to enjoy a Spanish themed event with my guitar playing.
