This article gives information on my open air flamenco performances.

Increasingly I am receiving requests for open air flamenco performances.

These are all over the U.K.

My clients say that my flamenco guitar for a daytime or evening event provides a magical experience.
Typically a candle lit dinner in a private garden.
They make Spanish food and feel that flamenco guitar in the background provides a genuine atmosphere.
My photos page shows a few examples of outdoor shows.
I do not have any videos from such events but I hope that the in concert ones give a flavour of my music.

Open air flamenco performances due to Covid

My clients do have indoor venues but they are hosting events outdoors.
To a certain extent this is motivated by Covid.
Quiet apart from laws it makes sense to congregate in the open air rather than in a closed space.

Solo guitar or with flamenco dancer

When playing solo this is very easy to provide.
All I need is a simple normal chair with no arms. 
If I have to use amplification then I need to be close to an electric socket or use an extension lead.

For shows with a flamenco dancer we need a wooden floor for her footwork.
This is of course a little more complicated.

Whichever type of open air performance I love playing like this.

The Spanish tradition of open air flamenco performances

Outdoor flamenco performances are of course nothing new.
For as long as anyone can remember flamenco has been provided outdoors.
Back in the very beginning this would have been a simple village square.
Then as flamenco gained popularity small towns organised a little stage in an open air location.
Nowadays all sorts of flamenco events are presented open air.
They may be shows but they may also be competitions.
Of course, a Spanish summer night gives a whole feeling to the event.
That said a British summer is ideal.
You do not have to wait until late for the heat to go down.
