Here at the top are two e mails I received for the same event.

There are also reviews of the event on my Last Minute Musicians profile written by Fin Kennedy and Mavis Sawdy.

I am grateful for and value all of my reviews and comments but it is very especially pleasing when people who hear me play are knowledgeable about flamenco, have heard great flamenco in Spain and still enjoy my playing.

Hi Tomas

I wanted to write to say a big Thank You for your wonderful playing at yesterday’s birthday party for Jamie. She was totally thrilled, as was everyone. I got so many comments about what a lovely addition it was to the day. You have a huge talent and it was a wonderful treat to see flamenco playing  so close.

I would certainly book you again for future events.

Hi Tomas

I just wanted to second everything Fin says. Thank you so much you made my party and I’m only sorry I couldn’t stop and listen to you for longer. I hope there’ll be occasions in the not too distant future when we can meet again and I can sit and enjoy your incredible  playing. A couple of friends at the party are guitarists and said they were blown away– one has played his whole life and says he has nothing like your skills and talent.

Many, many thanks again. All best

We booked Tomás to play both Classical Spanish compositions and flamenco pieces for our wedding and we are absolutely over the moon.

We had been searching for some time and had found that were either classical musicians who made an approximation to flamenco or they were flamenco players who were not really comfortable with the classical guitar style.

In Tomás we found absolute perfection. One talking point was that he brought two different guitars to our wedding with different tonal qualities appropriate to classical and flamenco music.

We also noticed the real contrast in his playing for each type of music: when playing flamenco he produced a strong, immediate, robust sound and yet when playing classical he seemed to caress the guitar bringing out delicate sounds.

His whole performance was so very right for our wedding and we could not have been more delighted.

Hola Tomas
Thank you a million times.

When we told our Spanish guests that we had contracted a Flamenco Guitarist for our Wedding at first they were not not sure what to expect but what actually happened was better than anything anyone could have imagined.

Several of the Spanish people said how you play as well as, if not better than flamenco guitarists they had heard back in Spain.

We loved the way you alternated very fast impressive flamenco with much quieter sensitive pieces.

Thank you for being flexible with times and staying longer.

You made our wedding day very special.

Dear Tomas

Thank you so much for playing flamenco guitar for my grandfather’s 80th birthday.

As you came very highly recommended we knew you would be very good but it was a special surprise to see that  you knew all of the old Spanish flamenco pieces from when my grandfather was young in Spain.

He felt like he was back in his youth in Granada and it was very touching.

Thank you for your beautiful music.

Hi Tomas

Thank you for your amazing flamenco guitar duets at our Spanish summer paella party. The music was really high energy but your careful soft amplification meant that it was just the right volume.

Compliments to your second guitarist who has fabulous rhythm.

We all also loved the softer flamenco solo compositions that you played as well which were very beautiful.

Thank you for giving our paella party a really genuine Spanish atmosphere.

You were everything and more than I could have imagined. Our guests have not stopped talking about the difference you made to our occasion. I simply don’t know how to thank you enough.

Superb 10/10

I booked Tomas and his dancer for my father’s 100th birthday party.

I was a bit apprehensive about booking online as you don’t really know what you are getting until they are there and started.

My father is Spanish, consequently knew all about Flamenco Dance and Guitar and I can honestly say that Tomas was superb on the guitar and his dancer was equally as good dancing.

They were truly a couple to be admired and very professional in what they do.

Could not have made a  better choice for authentic flamenco dance and guitar.

Superb 10/10

Thank you both for a superb evening of beautiful music and dance last night.

Our friends have contacted us to say how much they have enjoyed it too and the fact that it was a complete surprise.

We loved learning the stories behind some of the classic pieces.

The highlight of the week

I would like to thank you very much for taking part in the Evening Programme this year. Your contribution to the overall experience of the Summer School was very much appreciated by staff and students who attended.

Many students told me that the guitar recital was the highlight of the week and all said it was a wonderful way to begin the week here.

I do hope you will consider taking part in next year’s Evening Programme!

With many thanks.

Many thanks for coming to Denham last week and entertaining our members so brilliantly at our Spanish evening.

I have had lots of very enthusiastic and positive comments about the evening, particularly your guitar and castanet playing and dancing.

I’m pleased some members took part in the dance and you taught them very well.

Thank you very muuh again and best wishes for the future.

A wonderful experience

“Dear Tomás
My wife and I would like to thank you so much for the marvellous recital you gave yesterday in St. Albans.

I am an (amateur) aficionado of true andalucian guitar and it is so rare that we have in the UK the chance to hear the real thing played with such superb expertise and feeling.

We will be looking out for your appearances in future and hope you will soon return to Westminster Lodge.

Thanks also to María who so gracefully accompanied you.

It was a wonderful experience”

His amazing guitar playing

Estelle and I booked Tomas to play at our wedding at St. Giles House in Norwich.

From the beginning of the process Tomas provided us with clear information, access to a range of examples and suggested the best way to work with the ceremony and breakfast.

His planning for the day was impecable, even taking a taxi from an easily accessible car park to the venue to ensure he was not delayed looking for the hotel in an unfamilar city.

And I’ve not even mentioned his amazing guitar playing.

A mixture of traditional flamenco and classic Spanish guitar pieces perfectly complemented the theme of the wedding.

Highly recommended 10/10

A lovely evening

It was such a pleasure to hear you and Maria at our March Flamenco meeting in Beaconsfield.

Everyone said what a lovely evening they had.

As we are putting together our programme of events for the coming season I was hoping you could give a similar performance for our Club on Saturday 10th March.

Classical Guitar

He is a flamenco guitarist of tremendous passion and virtuosity. ……….At times unexpectedly lyrical, at times tragic and broken, with chords almost shaken from his hand.  This performance left the audience overwhelmed as they rose to their feet in appreciation of this extremely talented guitarist. Tomás Jiménez is his guitar. He lives and breathes it.

Concert Organiser at Canning House, London

Tomás; I want to thank you so much for the wonderful concert you gave here in Canning House on 30 June. It was a great success and quite moving at times. All the wonderful reviews about you are right! Perhaps we can do something next year together.

SKY Television

Dear Tomás; I was invited to Canning House on Friday to watch and listen to your marvellous playing. I am currently working on a TV show about Spain and wondered if you would be interested in coming on. We would need you for about 2 hours in the morning and would provide a car to and from our studios in NW London. I hope you are able to come on board.

Seven Days (official Brighton and Edinburgh Festivals on line and glossy print magazine).

In his masterful and varied recital, the acclaimed yet modest Spanish flamenco guitarist Tomás Jiménez introduced the backgrounds and styles of various forms and origins of flamenco, from traditional Spanish styles, to his personal improvised pieces.

Both entertaining and enlightening, the true beauty of this event was the pure unadulterated escapism it provided.

Berkshire Guitar Society magazine and Classical Guitar

Should a classical guitar society broaden its scope and get involved with flamenco? Yes, without hesitation. We had the largest audience I can recall with members heavily outnumbered by non- members. The audience enjoyed the evening and even our treasurer is happy. He played beautifully and with an obvious commitment to flamenco- try to catch him when he next tours the UK.

Guitar International

In his deft hands, the guitar was able to communicate the joy and sadness, the strength and gentleness of each message. The fingers of his left hand fluttered with the delicacy of butterfly wings, spiralling descending and rising again in musical ornamentation above the insistent demands of the right. For a flamenco player, the easiest path to success is one of commercialisation. Conversely, finding one’s own voice is a constant uphill struggle; but this is the journey that Tomás Jiménez has not been afraid to undertake, and his absorbing performance was an outcome of his total commitment. A breathtaking performance.

Classical Guitar

This was a thoroughly enjoyable evening of fabulous music performed by a hugely talented guitarist. His playing throughout was enthralling: he has a captivating manner and brilliant technique.
