My Spanish guitar music

I play flamenco and Spanish classical guitar compositions.
My repertoire does not include movie themes or acoustic guitar arrangements of popular songs.
These styles are of course wonderful but my speciality is Spanish music.

Your choice of Spanish guitar music

Some of my clients are very happy to leave this to me.
But I am always pleased to discuss any preferences that you may have.
It could be that you already know certain pieces.
Apart from specific pieces you may be thinking of certain moods.
Because the repertoire is so extensive, I find that clients are always happy with my music.

Spanish guitarist dinner party: Playing times

Some guitarists have a fixed offer of time and sets with breaks.
That can be sensible but I prefer a more flexible approach.
I know that you will have your own plans so the following is just a suggestion.

Playing guitar as people arrive.

I can do this.

However, when people arrive, they tend to greet each other and move around on foot quite a bit.
If I am some distance from them my music does not encroach on their conversations.
Far more importantly they do not encroach on my space or bang into me!

Spanish guitar music once people are seated.

This is ideal.

Once people are seated the sound of a live Spanish guitarist starts to produce a wonderful atmosphere.
Your dinner guests are looking forward to your food.
My music should provide a bridge to fill the waiting time.

Spanish guitarist dinner party: Flamenco

The sound files on this site are all flamenco.

Some of the pieces are really rather forceful.
They may not be appropriate as relaxed dinner music.

The Granaína, Colombiana, Rondeña, Rumba and Zambra may well be better.
These pieces still are very authentic flamenco and as such provide a slightly unusual musical experience.

I can modify all of the flamenco pieces to include some moods while avoiding others.
Hence, you may find the opening bars of these pieces very much to your taste.
Conversely their final crescendos may be too powerful. 

One of the joys of flamenco is that I can modify the details of each piece.
The piece is still authentic flamenco.

Spanish guitarist dinner party: Classical

Shortly I will add videos of my classical guitar playing.

I especially like the gentler classical pieces.
There are so many sweet classical pieces and they can be an ideal accompaniment to a dinner party.
The pieces in my repertoire may be great compositions but are nonetheless very accessible to all music lovers.

I like to dress conventionally to perform at your dinner party.

My usual preference is a dark suit and tie.

Sometimes musicians nowadays dress very casually.
That is of course a personal choice and the quality of music is not defined by appearance.

My preference is for a formal look.

Amplifying the Spanish guitar (or not)

If at all possible, I prefer not to amplify.

I am fortunate to play extremely good guitars.
They have more than enough projection for an intimate dinner event.

If your event is in a very large dining room or outside it may be necessary to amplify.
My personal preference is for just enough to be heard without overpowering conversation.
